As we come to the end of another busy and memorable school year, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has played a part in making it such a special one.
Firstly, a massive congratulations to all of our award winners – what a fantastic achievement! You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. I would also like to say well done to every single child at Read St John's. Whether you've been learning something new, showing kindness to others, taking on a challenge or simply trying your very best each day, you have all achieved so much this year. It has been a real privilege to watch you grow in confidence and flourish.
To our wonderful staff, thank you. You give so much of yourselves every single day and your care, commitment and enthusiasm shine through in everything you do. Our children are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team supporting them.
I would also like to share that our Summer Fayre raised an amazing £1,857.52 for the school. Thank you to everyone who came along, donated prizes, volunteered their time or supported the event in any way. A very special thank you goes to our fantastic Friends of Read School (FoRS), whose hard work, organisation and enthusiasm made the day such a wonderful success. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do to support our school.
Thank you too to our governors for their continued support and encouragement, and to all of our parents and carers. We really do value the partnership we have with you and everything you do to support your children and our school.
We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who gives up their time to enrich school life. Thank you to TAG Sports, whose PE lessons and after-school clubs have been such a huge success. The children absolutely love them! Thank you also to Miss Clair, Sarah and Olivia from 7B Dance for inspiring our children through their fantastic dance lessons.
To all of our volunteers, thank you. Whether you've listened to children read, helped in classrooms, accompanied us on school trips, looked after our grounds or supported us in so many other ways, your generosity and kindness never go unnoticed. You help make Read St John's the wonderful community it is.
Our Year 6 production was an absolute joy to watch. Every single child performed with confidence, enthusiasm and smiles, and they should all be incredibly proud of themselves. It was the perfect celebration of everything they have achieved during their time with us.
To our amazing Year 6 children… thank you. You have been a wonderful year group, and it is hard to believe the time has come to say goodbye. You have been fantastic role models, shown great resilience and kindness, and created so many happy memories along the way. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Although we will miss you very much, we know you are ready for the next exciting chapter. Go on to high school with confidence, grab every opportunity, work hard, be kind and always believe in yourselves. Remember, you will always be part of the Read St John's family, and our doors are always open—you'll be welcome back anytime to tell us how you're getting on.
Finally, I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Take time to relax, make precious memories with family and friends, and enjoy every minute of your well-deserved break.
