Year 1
Dear Parents and Carers,
My name is Carolyne Entwistle and I am the Year One teacher. I work with Mrs. Knight, my teaching assistant to make Year One an exciting and stimulating place to be. We aim to develop a happy learning environment where children feel confident to ask questions and enjoy the work that we do.
We cover a range of topics over the year, including work on our locality, the seasons, plants, animals, healthy living and much more! We consolidate and build upon our phonics knowledge so that children become confident and enthusiastic at reading and writing. We develop many fundamental skills in our PE lessons and encourage children to be active.
We enjoy forest school activities on our field, exploring our locality and going on trips to the theatre, museums and a historic house.
