Agents of Change at Read St. John’s

At some point in life, we all face challenges and may need support to overcome barriers to experience “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). At Read St. John’s, we teach our children the importance of helping others whenever we can—regardless of who they are, where they come from, or the challenges they face.

Our Christian faith and the teachings of the Bible inspire us to be advocates for justice and compassion. We learn from courageous advocates in scripture and the world around us, living out Proverbs 31:8-9:

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”

Our Pupils as Agents of Change

This year, each class has chosen a charity or cause to support, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the world. Our pupils truly are agents of change, putting their faith into action by standing up for others and supporting those in need.

How We Support Our Causes

  • Learning about the issues and the people affected through age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Organising fundraising events and awareness campaigns led by pupils.
  • Reflecting on the Christian values of Service, Compassion, and Responsibility as we support our chosen causes.
  • Celebrating the impact of our efforts and encouraging ongoing commitment to social justice.

Join Us in Making a Difference

We invite families and the wider community to join us in supporting these causes, helping our pupils grow as compassionate leaders who live out their faith by serving others.

At Read St. John’s, we are proud to nurture agents of change—children who understand that through kindness, courage, and faith, they can help build a fairer, more loving world.
