Year 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

My name is Kim Taylor and I am the Year two teacher. Mrs. Nutter is our fabulous teaching assistant who will be working alongside individuals, groups and the whole class. We aim to make Year Two an exciting and stimulating place to be. We pride ourselves in providing a happy learning environment where children feel confident to ask questions and enjoy the work that we do. I have always had a passion for teaching a varied curriculum but especially enjoy Science, Music and French. We will be trialling spoken French throughout Key Stage 1 this year.

We love reading and encourage children to develop their own passion for reading utilising our school library as well as continuing with daily school readers. We consolidate and build upon our phonics knowledge and spelling patterns so that our children become confident and enthusiastic at reading and writing. We develop many fundamental skills in our PE lessons and encourage children to be active.

In addition to forest school activities on our field we explore our locality and build in field trips to our exciting curriculum. Here are some of the topics covered over the year.
