Attendance, Absences, and Late Arrivals

We feel that timekeeping is very important and therefore ask that every effort is made to ensure that the children arrive at school on time. Should a child arrive late on several occasions then a letter will be sent home to inform the parents of the situation.

Staff have to record absences from school as authorised or unauthorised. As a school we also have to publish, annually, our attendance figures. It is vital therefore that if your child is absent, that you contact school by telephone or letter on their first day of absence to let us know the reasons. The minimum requirement for attendance is 95% per school year.

The Headteacher now has to mark holidays as unauthorised if they are taken in term-time, unless exceptional circumstances have been given.

Please ensure that we have your current address and telephone number. We also ask for at least two emergency contact numbers in case you are out. Any changes of address or telephone number must be notified immediately.
