We have had a very busy and fun-packed December and what a brilliant way to end the Autumn term!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our whole-school pantomime Cinderella, Oh Yes We Did! There was lots of laughter, singing and audience participation, and the children were completely engaged from start to finish.
Our football team has been busy representing the school and did a fantastic job, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship. We were also delighted to welcome Burnley Football Club into school. They awarded the children with a signed football shirt, which caused lots of excitement! Dee was incredibly touched to hear her name being shouted during the women’s football match that Burnley kindly gave us tickets for. As a result, she generously gifted the signed shirt to the school, and the players also got together to buy and donate some football equipment for our pupils. We are extremely grateful for their kindness and support.
The school choir had a busy time too, singing at both the Cons Club and the Village Hall. They performed confidently and helped spread plenty of festive cheer throughout the local community.
The infant children were truly amazing in their nativity performance, Everyone Loves a Baby. They sang beautifully, spoke clearly and showed great confidence on stage. The performance was thoroughly enjoyed by families and staff alike and was a real highlight of the term.
We also held a Multi-Faith Week, where the children learned about different religions and cultures. We were delighted to welcome Prags into school, who taught us all about being a Hindu. The children were really engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and learned a great deal from the experience.
The Fire Service visited school to speak to Year 2 and Year 6 pupils, sharing important fire safety messages in a fun and engaging way. The children learned how to stay safe and what to do in an emergency.
Year 3 had an amazing school trip to Outdoor Elements, where they took part in a range of outdoor activities. They showed fantastic teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow throughout the day.
The children have enjoyed festive class parties, filled with games, laughter and plenty of fun with their friends. We also came together for our whole-school Carol Service at the church, where the children sang beautifully and shared readings in a lovely, festive atmosphere.
Finally, a huge thank you to FORS for organising the Festive Fun Night. It was a brilliant evening and thoroughly enjoyed by pupils, families and staff alike.
What a fantastic way to end the Autumn term. Thank you for all your continued support throughout the year. We wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year refreshed and ready for another exciting term! ✨
