As we come to the end of our first half term, we’re reflecting on a fantastic and eventful few weeks here at school. The children have settled in wonderfully and thrown themselves into every opportunity with great enthusiasm!  Some of the fantastic things that have happened in the last few weeks are;

NSPCC Workshops

We were pleased to welcome the NSPCC into school this term. They delivered engaging and informative workshops to Years 2, 5, and 6, helping our pupils understand how to stay safe and speak out.

Harvest Service

Our whole school came together for a special Harvest celebration at church, giving thanks and learning about the importance of helping others. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Spirituality Day

Our Worship Leaders took part in a reflective and inspiring Spirituality Day at Whalley Abbey, exploring faith, community, and leadership.

Local Learning Walks

Year 1 and Year 3 enjoyed local walks this term, connecting their learning with the world around them. It's been wonderful to take learning beyond the classroom.

Sporting Success

We are thrilled to have been awarded the Gold Sports Award by the Sports Partnership — a testament to our continued commitment to physical activity and school sport.

Our football teams have shown great determination in tournaments and league games, and our cross-country runners have proudly represented the school. Well done to all our athletes!

Year 3’s Trip to Accrington Stanley

Year 3 had an exciting and memorable day out with their visit to Accrington Stanley Football Club!

Choir and Let's Go Sing

Our school choir is already in full swing, rehearsing for the exciting Let’s Go Sing event later in the year. We can’t wait to hear them perform!

Environmental Support

A big thank you to the Readstone Environmental Group, who kindly donated a weather station, recycling bin stickers, and seeds for our school garden. These will support our ongoing work in sustainability and outdoor learning.

Tesco Golden Grant Success

We’re delighted to announce that we have won the £5,000 Golden Tesco Grant! A massive thank you to everyone who supported us with your blue tokens. The funds will go towards installing an all-weather surface, allowing us to make full use of our Wellbeing Shed throughout the year.

Reception Stars

A special mention to our new Reception children who have settled in beautifully. They’ve made a wonderful start to their school journey and have already become a valued part of our school family.

We’re so proud of everything our pupils and staff have achieved this half term. Thank you for your continued support — we hope you all have a restful and enjoyable break!

School reopens on Monday the 3rd of November.
